Thai AirAsia X has suspended its direct Bangkok-Brisbane Route from 7th April 2020. These flights carry the XJ code and are operated with their Airbus A330 aircraft, including their new A330-900neo, delivered late 2019. The suspension is part of its route rationalisation initiative in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Thai AirAsia X: passenger remedies
All affected passengers will be offered various options to alleviate any inconvenience:
- Move flight:
- Change to a new travel date on the same route prior to route suspension on 6 April 2020
- No additional cost
- Subject to seat availability
- Reroute:
- One time reroute to alternative destination Gold Coast
- (operated by AirAsia X Malaysia, airline code D7) via Kuala Lumpur (KUL),
- Within 30 calendar days of the original travel date
- No additional cost
- Subject to seat availability.
- One time reroute to alternative destination Gold Coast
- Credit account:
- Retain the value of your booking
- Use a Credit Account linked with your BIG member account
- For future travel with AirAsia
- A valid BIG member account is mandatory for Credit Account option
- Credit can be redeemed within 90 calendar days from the date of issue
- Retain the value of your booking
- Full refund:
- Obtain a full refund in the amount equivalent to the original booking.
The Process
- All affected passengers will be notified directly
- via their registered member email account and SMS notification.
- Update
- Your email address if it has changed
- Mobile numbers including country code prefix
- Update your AirAsia member profile at Manage My Booking at airasia.com.
These options apply only to direct online bookings made via airasia.com. For other types of bookings, including those made through travel agents, contact the original booking agent.
