UPDATE 31 March 2023: This promotion has now been extended indefinitely. The return fare between Brisbane city stations and the airport is now $20.90. All other terms of the promotion remain the same.
If you’re heading to or from Brisbane airport before 31 March 2023, book a return trip on the Brisbane Airtrain before 31 December 2022 and get the return leg for free. This offer is good for any return trip booked via the Airtrain website, in either direction and does not require a promo code – the free return discount is applied automatically. Note that the outbound leg will be charged at the full fare, so no advance purchase discounts will apply.
Return for free savings
On a return trip to/from Brisbane Central station, this means a fare of $19.80 instead of the usual $37.60. If you’re travelling to or from the Gold Coast, this results in a return fare of $35.90 instead of $69.80, a massive $33.90 saving. To see where you can go on the Airtrain network, check out the Network Map here.
If you’re a plan-ahead type of traveller, this also means you don’t have to purchase tickets at least 7 days out to take advantage of the best deal. These return-for-free tickets are good for purchase online even on the day of travel.
It’s worth highlighting that these promo tickets must be bought on the Airtrain website, so you will not be able to take advantage of the free return trip if you purchase your ticket at the station or use your Go card.
What if my plans change?
If you’ve booked in advance and have to change your plans, Airtrain will happily change your travel dates so long as you get in touch with them before your travel date. You can also transfer your ticket to someone else. Note that refunds are not allowed as part of this promotion. Notwithstanding this limitation, these terms are still very generous. If you require refundable return tickets, you can still do this by purchasing two one-way tickets and save a little by purchasing them at least 7 days in advance.
