After more than two years of reduced service, KLIA Transit and KLIA Ekspres service frequency will increase from 1st August 2022. This is a response to the increasing passenger ridership with more flights and passenger flow. Travellers can now look forward to six services per hour at 10-minute intervals during weekday peak hours.

KLIA Ekspres service frequency

As the first step towards full services, the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit will continue to be operated as a combined service. However, improved frequency will offer greater comfort and convenience to the growing number of passengers.

The revised schedule will see the combined service frequency improving from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes during weekday peak hours (6 services per hour) while off-peak frequency will increase from half-hourly to every 20 minutes (3 services per hour). The first train departs at 5:00 am from both KL Sentral and klia2 every day. The last train departure is at 12:02 am from both terminals.

Air travellers and daily commuters should check the train schedule and plan ahead to minimise waiting time as well as ensure they have plenty of time for flight check-in/bag drop at the airport.

Fares

There is no change to the airport transfer fare on the combined service. The fare remains the same for both services  for travel between KLIA/klia2 and KL Sentral. Purchase your tickets online and enjoy a 10% discount on standard single and return tickets. Check the KLIA Ekspres website or app for special offers and enjoy savings of up to 27%. This is especially helpful for passengers travelling in groups of three or more, or with children.

The company targets to resume full KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services in Quarter 4 of this year. When this happens, the train operation will revert to pre-pandemic service frequency and operation hours.
