Malaysia Airlines to restart Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane flights

January 9, 20182 minute read

After a hiatus of nearly three years, Malaysia Airlines is relaunching its much-desired Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane route. Beginning June 6, the relaunched route will operate four days a week until passenger numbers justify a daily flight.

Schedule

Flights will revive the former flight numbers, MH135 from Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane and MH134 on the return leg.
Flight Direction Days Departs Arrives
MH 135 Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat 9:50 AM 7:55 PM
MH 134 Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat 11:20 PM 5:50 AM+1
Flights will be operated by standard configuration Airbus A330-300 aircraft. These are the same planes that ply the Sydney and Melbourne routes, and also fly to much of North Asia. All seats include personal entertainment screens and are arranged in a 2-4-2 layout. This affords more room than the competing AirAsia A330s (flying from the Gold Coast), which are arranged 3-3-3. Being a full-service carrier, meals and 30kg of baggage are included.

Timing and connections

Flight timings are designed to meet London-bound flights, as well as a host of other destinations out of Kuala Lumpur. However passengers travelling from Asia to Brisbane via Kuala Lumpur may find that an overnight stop in Kuala Lumpur is necessary. Fares go on sale today, with special return fares of MYR 2,099 from Kuala Lumpur and AUD 604 from Brisbane. Book at malaysiaairlines.com – but be quick. Sale fares expire on January 14 ex-Kuala Lumpur and January 22 ex-Brisbane.
