Indonesia has reintroduced their visa on arrival (VoA) for tourists landing in Bali from 23 countries, with effect from Monday, 7th March 2022. The surprise announcement from the Directorate General of Immigration (DGI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia was made yesterday 6th March. It comes barely a week after Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, head of the government’s pandemic response in Java and Bali, announced plans to trial a quarantine-free international entry policy in Bali starting 14th March, citing the improving COVID-19 situation. He did suggest that the trial could start earlier if conditions allowed.
