Cathay Pacific have tied up with American Express Malaysia to offer some great ‘Two to Travel’ deals ex-Malaysia, on sale until 30th June 2015, for travel until 31st Jan 2016.
Print ads in the local newspapers also indicate that passengers will have an extra 10kg baggage allowance (to 30kg) for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and China.
As they also flagged a ‘No additional surcharge’ for a one-way stopover on the return journey, this writer has checked out how good an offer it is.
To find information on the offer, you may either go to the Maybank AMEX page but to place your booking you must go through the Cathay Pacific website.
Click on Exclusive for Maybank Cardholders to find all theTerms and Conditions – It is important to read the Terms & Conditions for the various validity dates and other conditions.
This is also the only way you can find out how to include a stopover on your return journey. There is no place to do this during the booking process, you need to email them at the address given in the Terms & Conditions. It’s about half way down the list of conditions.
Then select your preferred class of travel. Selecting Economy will take you to the booking page for available Economy tickets.
So is it worth it?
Looks like it, if you are able to work around the dates to get the very best prices.
Our quoted offer fare for a return journey Kuala Lumpur / Taipei on 3rd June, returning 10th June was RM 863 per pax vs the quoted regular fare for the same dates of RM 1259 per pax. So it looks like you should be able to find something to suit your purse here.
