Feedback received after the implementation of e-hailing pick-ups at KL International Airport (KLIA), sees E-Hailing fees standardised across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, effective 16 September 2026. The new, standardised the entry fee for e-hailing vehicles has been confirmed as RM2.00, inclusive of tax, a reduction from the previous charges of RM3.00 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2.
What E-Hailing fees are covered?
What they are actually standardising, is the e-hailing entry fees charged for drivers to enter the area for pick-up and exit within the 10-minute grace period. The revision of the fee also providing passengers with a single, consistent rate for e-hailing pick-ups at both terminals.
The standardisation is aimed at providing greater consistency and clarity for passengers and e-hailing operators and supports a more streamlined pick-up experience across both terminals.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that travellers are pleased with the results of the new system. Malaysia Airports has also announced that the enhanced e-hailing facilities introduced at Terminal 1 in August 2026 as part of its improvement initiatives have recorded encouraging improvements in operational performance. Within the first month following implementation, 99.3% of e-hailing drivers had completed passenger pick-ups and exit within the allocated 10-minute grace period, up from 49.4% previously, with daily vehicle volume entering the pick-up lanes decreasing by 13.5%, from 8,124 to 7,024 vehicles.
This data reflects improved control of e-hailing operations, with reduced unauthorised activity, unnecessary vehicle circulation and prolonged idling, while maintaining smooth access for genuine passenger pick-ups. The enhanced system has also increased peak-hour processing capacity from 302 to up to 660 vehicles per hour, enabling faster vehicle turnaround and smoother passenger pick-up operations during peak arrival periods.

Other improvements
The upgraded facilities at Terminal 1 also include a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system integrated with Passenger Information Display Screens (PIDS) in the dedicated passenger waiting areas, self-service kiosks, structured pick-up bays and on-ground marshalls to assist passengers and facilitate traffic flow.
The enhanced e-hailing system also enables stricter monitoring and access control, ensuring that only authorised e-hailing vehicles utilise the designated pick-up facilities. E-hailing vehicles will continue to be allocated a maximum of 10 minutes at the kerbside pick-up area to support better traffic circulation, greater availability of pick-up bays and a more efficient passenger pick-up experience.
