Tourism Malaysia, AirAsia in joint tourism push

As part of a joint tourism push announced recently, AirAsia will work with Tourism Malaysia to promote tourism in Malaysia. The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in Shanghai, China, between Tourism Malaysia (TM) and AirAsia, signals the start of a two year agreement covering brand advertising, promotional activities and tourism campaigns.

Along with familiarisation trip for consumers, trade, media, travel agencies to Malaysia, the agreement will leverage on the synergy in planning between tourism development and air transportation to provide better connectivity. The MoA was signed on the sidelines of Malaysia’s participation at the inaugural ITB China event at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Joint tourism push – what’s in it for me?

The agreement will see Tourism Malaysia and AirAsia focus on developing promotional activities across all AirAsia’s routes to and from Malaysia. This covers all 10 Asean countries, as well as China, Japan, Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Australia and New Zealand.

Special discount for UnionPay Cardholders

In conjunction with the announcement, AirAsia is offering a 5% special discount on top of all existing promotions exclusively for UnionPay Cardholders. The discount is available for bookings made by 4th July 2017 for travel between 5th May 2017 to 5th June 2018.
