Thai AirAsia X (XJ) Offers Unlimited Flight Changes

Thai AirAsia X (XJ) is offering unlimited flight changes or two-year validity credit account option for passengers affected by prolonged travel restrictions and international border closures caused by the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thai AirAsia X updated options

Thai AirAsia X, the Thailand based low cost long haul carrier is offering updated alternate options with more flexibility. These changes have been updated on 1st December 2021. They affect passengers with flights booked and scheduled for travel from Thailand to Japan, South Korea, and China by 31st March 2022.

To help minimise the inconvenience, options available for passengers are detailed below:

  • Unlimited flight changes:

    • Change to any new travel date up to 31st March 2022 on the same route for an unlimited number of times without any change fee cost and fare difference to be waived, subject to seat availability

OR

  • Unlimited flight changes:

    • Change to any new travel date from 1st April 2022 onwards, on the same route for an unlimited number of times without any change fee cost, fare difference may incur a charge (if any), subject to seat availability

OR

  • Credit account:

    • Retain the value of the flight booking (for flights scheduled for travel until 31st March 2022) in the guest’s AirAsia BIG Member account for future travel with AirAsia to be redeemed within 730 calendar days (2 years) from the issuance date.
    • The travel date of the new booking can fall on any date within the published flight schedule on airasia.com.
    • With this option, guests will have the value of their accounts increased by 10% so that  every 100 THB in the account will be worth 110 THB.
    • Credit accounts are valid for use on any domestic flights operated by Thai AirAsia (FD) immediately, and for booking future flights with Thai AirAsia X as well as other flights across the AirAsia Group, once international services resume.
    • Please note that guests must submit the request to proceed with this option by 31st March 2022.
  • Reroute:

    • Guests with original flights booked and scheduled to travel to Osaka Sapporo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, are offered one time change to other flights with new destinations operated by Thai AirAsia X (XJ),
      • without any change fee cost
      • fare difference may incur a charge (if any)
      • subject to seat availability ;

OR

  • Refund:

    • Guests with original flights booked and scheduled to travel to destinations in China may submit the refund option as per CAAC rules.

Use AVA, on support.airasia.com or airasia.com to make their selection. Travellers who wish to receive any option must process their preferred alternate travel plans no less than 48 hours prior to their original scheduled flight date.

The above guest information is only applicable for guests with flights on Thai AirAsia X who booked their flights directly online via airasia.com. For group bookings or those made through travel agents, please refer to the respective booking agent for further assistance.
