Malaysia Airlines has increased the number of seats on popular routes for Chinese New Year Flights in 2020.
They have done this by
- adding extra flights to selected key domestic and international destinations
- upgrading the aircraft used on selected routes
This initiative adds 16,720 additional seats through 22 extra flights and 34 upgraded services to cater to the surge in demand for air travel during the festival period. Chinese New Year 2020 falls on Saturday 25th January, with Monday also a public holiday.
Chinese New Year flights – where and when
The upgraded and extra Chinese New Year Flights will operate from 21st January to 2nd February 2020, depending on route.

Flights between Kuala Lumpur and Narita, Japan
Malaysia Airlines will also be upgrading six return flights from the 286-seater A350-900 to the 486- seater A380-800 aircraft for Kuala Lumpur – Narita route, 23rd -26th, 28th & 30th January 2020.
