AirAsia’s maiden flight to Da Lat, capital of Vietnam’s Lam Dong province opens the first direct flight connecting Kuala Lumpur and this highland city. Da Lat is located in the  southern part of Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

The AirAsia A320 aircraft, 9M-AQH with distinctive 100th Awesome Plane livery, took off from Kuala Lumpur at 11:00am, landing at Da Lat Lien Khuong Airport at 12:10pm. Although the flight takes slightly over two hours, you must adjust your watch as Vietnam time is one hour behind Malaysia.

Why visit Da Lat?

Da Lat is a popular holiday destination in Vietnam. Known as the City of Eternal Spring for its pleasant weather, Da Lat welcomes visitors all year round. The city was developed in the late 1800s as a hill station for Europeans living in the country and was home to a school for missionaries’ children. Penangites will recognise the city’s name as the school was relocated to Penang in the 1970s, taking the name Dalat school.

The area is well known for its production of vegetables, coffee and wine as well as fresh flowers.

Da Lat is AirAsia’s seventh destination in Vietnam after Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho and Phu Quoc. Book your flight to Da Lat using the AirAsia website or their mobile app, available for iPhone and Android.
