Malaysia Airlines is offering passengers flexible MCO 2 rebooking with a one-time fare difference and service fee waiver. This follows the Malaysian Government’s enforcement of the MCO in six states and federal territories with an interstate travel ban. This is the second phase of Malaysia’s Movement Control Order.

Flexible MCO 2 rebooking

In the light of the travel ban, the airline will operate with reduced frequency, supporting worldwide cargo movement with MABkargo. These changes affect flights between domestic destinations throughout Malaysia.

Passengers with all types of tickets, including Enrich redemption tickets, will have flexibility when making ticket changes. The rebookings must be made on or before 30th June 2021 for travel to be completed by 31st December 2021.

Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s Group CEO, Captain Izham Ismail reminded passengers to follow safety measures implemented by the airline, on ground and on board their aircraft.

He added that the airline has been offering passengers a variety of flexible travel options:

….. to give passengers regardless of fare class, including the Lite Fare, the certainty and peace of mind that their tickets remain eligible for future travel with us.

Following the introduction of Economy Flex last year, passengers can also take advantage of ‘Ultimate Flexibility‘.

  • This fare class includes
  • unlimited date changes with no fees
  • free refunds without a fee
  • Go Show flexibility
  • priority check-in and boarding
  • check-in baggage allowance of 35kg

‘Fly Confidently’ campaign

Malaysia Airlines and its sister airlines Firefly and MASwings introduced this programme last July to educate passengers on the enhanced measures implemented across touchpoints at airports and on board.

These measures include

  • mandatory usage of face masks
  • frequent aircraft disinfection for a refined inflight experience
  • compliance with social distancing requirements
  • minimal physical contact

All aircraft use HEPA filters that are proven to filter out 99.97 per cent of viruses on board.

Passengers wishing to rebook their travels can make the changes online on www.malaysiaairlines.com or contact the call Centre at 1 300 88 3000 (within Malaysia) or +603 7843 3000 (outside Malaysia).
