AirAsia’s Johor Bahru hub will see connections to India, with the announcement of its first Indian destination – Kolkata. The new route will see the inaugural flight take off on 28th November 2017, offering five weekly direct flights. The addition of Kolkata will give the Johor Bahru hub its fifteenth route and the sixth international destination.

Why visit Kolkata?

Kolkata, the ‘Cultural Capital of India’ is the capital city of West Bengal and India’s second biggest city. The city’s rich culture shows off many attractions including the Indian Museum, the first museum to be founded in India. The Victoria Memorial echoes the design of the Taj Mahal and you can visit Belur Math, a temple seen as an icon of the unity of all religions. Tea connoisseurs may already know the world’s-famous Darjeeling tea plantation which is just a train or bus ride away from Kolkata. Foodies will love the range of the delicious street food.
