GTF 2017, this year’s George Town Festival, starts this weekend, with a programme showcasing performances from across Asean. Aptly titled ‘Svara Asean‘, the concerts will be held at the Dewan Sri Pinang on 28th and 29th July, starting at 9:00pm. Svara Asean concert-goers will be treated to a wide variety of sights and sounds over the hour and a half long -concert. The Penang Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philippine Madrigal Singers will be on the stage. Local artists Adibah Noor and Sean Ghazi and mezzo-soprano Anchee from Thailand will entertain the audience, joined by Flute Maestro Gus Teja from Indonesia.

GTF 2017 – what else is on?

Check out the food, art and craft and other delights at Macam Macam Asean at the Penang State Museum in Macalister Road this weekend. Entry is Free.
Be inspired by the combination of Chinese drums playing to the rhythm of Indian classic music, in the Temple of Fine Arts performances of ANTHAR AGNI.This is a ticketed performance on 30th and 31st August.
