Airlines add extra flights & dates for elections

Malaysian airlines are adding extra flights, offering date change waivers, and extending validity dates to assist Malaysians who wish to return home to vote in the country’s 14th General election.

In a new statement issued on 18th April, they have extended the fixed fare offer dates to accommodate the surge in demand. They have also upgraded the aircraft used from A320 to the larger A330s used by AirAsia X.

Extra flights, extra date

AirAsia has announced additional flights and they’ve extended the dates to include 7th May, to access special fixed fares.

Within Peninsular Malaysia

One-way fare MYR 99

  • Between Kuala Lumpur and
    • Alor Star A320 – 8 flights
    • Johor Bahru A320 – 2 flights
    • Kota Bharu A320 – 16 flights
    • Kuala Terengganu A320 – 16 flights
    • Penang A320 – 16 flights, A330 – 6 flights
  • Between Johor Bahru and
    • Penang A320 – 10 flights

Peninsular Malaysia-Sarawak

One-way fare MYR 129

  • Between Kuala Lumpur and
    • Kuching A330 – 6 flights
    • Sibu A320 – 8 flights
  • Between Johor Bahru and
    • Miri A320 – 4 flights
    • Sibu A320 – 8 flights

Peninsular Malaysia – Sabah
