AirAsia X will fly Malaysia’s national badminton team to Gold Coast, Australia this May to participate in the 2017 Total BWF Sudirman Cup.
This sponsorship is part of the airline group’s #DARETODREAM sports initiative. Players include national badminton stars Mixed Doubles Olympic Silver medalists Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying.
The Gold Coast also has a sentimental place in AirAsia X’s corporate heart – it was their first International destination.
The Sudirman Cup competition
The competition will be keenly fought at the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre, newly constructed for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Mixed Team competition is organised by the World Badminton Federation.
