AirAsia starts service to Ipoh from Johor Bahru

AirAsia launched its new services to the city of Ipoh, capital of Perak State on Monday morning 1st October 2018. AirAsia flight AK6082 took off from Senai International Airport at 7:30 a.m, arriving at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport at 8:40 a.m. 

In addition to Johor Bahru – Ipoh services, the airline also began direct flights from Johor Bahru to Alor Setar today. These two additional destinations offer more choices for  business and leisure travellers.

Ipoh is AirAsia Malaysia’s 17th domestic destination and the 16th route from the Johor Bahru hub. In addition to Ipoh, AirAsia also flies from Johor Bahru to

  • Bangkok,
  • Jakarta
  • Surabaya
  • Ho Chi Minh City
  • Guangzhou
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • Penang
  • Langkawi
  • Kuala Terengganu
  • Kuching
  • Miri
  • Sibu
  • Kota Kinabalu
  • Tawau
  • Alor Setar.

The opening up of this new route is timely as state government is setting up Perak Tourism Action Council (PTAC). The masterplan will include the rebranding of the state’s tourism, including Ipoh, to attract more domestic and foreign visitors to the state. AirAsia’s four times weekly direct services will help boost visitor number to the state and contribute significantly to the state’s economy.
