AirAsia rolls out the Red Carpet at Brisbane

August 6, 20192 minute read

Flying a Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) doesn’t always have to be an austere experience. Conversely, paying for a service only when you want it is the hallmark of most LCCs. The Red Carpet service from AirAsia perfectly epitomises this idea. Having launched Bangkok-Brisbane services earlier this year, AirAsia is now offering a bit of luxury through this add-on. By adding this service to your Brisbane-Bangkok booking, you get:

  • Priority check-in
  • Access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Brisbane International Airport
  • Priority boarding
  • Priority baggage upon arrival

The Plaza Premium Lounge experience

The Plaza Premium Lounge is located at International Departures on level 4. Upon entering, you’ll enjoy complimentary food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and shower facilities. Time your arrival to make the most of the 3 hours of access provided. Children under the age of two can access the lounge free of charge when travelling with a full paying adult (there is a limit of two children per adult).

Price and booking

Red Carpet can be booked online up to 4 hours before take-off. At the airport, you can get access to the service up to an hour before the flight. If booked online, the Red Carpet treatment is yours for AUD 75. As with all things when flying, it’s cheaper to book ahead; at the airport counter you’ll pay AUD 85.

To book online, go to the AirAsia website and pull up your booking. If you are booked to fly from Brisbane, you should see Red Carpet offered as an add-on under Manage My Booking.

Where else is Red Carpet available?

Red Carpet is also available at the following ports:

  • Bangkok – Don Mueang
  • Brisbane
  • Chiang Mai
  • Kuching
  • Kota Kinabalu
  • Penang
  • Phuket
  • Singapore
  • Udon Thani
