AirAsia celebrates 10 years of Shenzhen flights

When AirAsia started their Shenzhen flights in July 2007, they brought something new to Chinese air travel. The airline introduced the concept of low-cost air travel, with initial flights connecting Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Before the end of 2007, Shenzhen – Kota Kinabalu flights were added to the network with the three routes reporting an average load factor over 85%.

Pick up an all-in, one-way ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Shenzhen, starting at MYR 256, or from MYR 257 from Kota Kinabalu. 

Bookings may be made online from airasia.com from 17th to 23rd July 2017 for travel between 19th July and 24th November 2017. For tickets out of Bangkok, check the AirAsia website in Thailand for prices from 17th July.

At the celebration in Shenzhen’s Bao’an International Airport, Aireen Omar, AirAsia Berhad CEO thanked regulators and airport authorities, as well as business partners in Shenzhen for their continuous support over the past decade.  

She also spoke of up-coming developments:
