The Hari Raya Aidiladha (Hari Raya Haji) holiday falls on 1st September in 2017. With Malaysians also celebrating the Merdeka Day holiday on 31st August, this makes for a four day weekend. That means lots of people who want to ‘balik kampung’ or just enjoy a short holiday.

To help meet increased demand for flights, AirAsia is increasing flight frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu, Johor Bahru and Alor Setar over the period.

Hari Raya Aidiladha extra flights

The extra flights will be allocated for flights from 26th August to 3rd September between Kuala Lumpur and:

  • Kota Bharu – an increase from 75 to 89 one-way flights weekly
  • Kuala Terengganu – up from 47 to 54 one-way flights weekly
  • Flights to Alor Setar will increase from 33 to 40 one-way flights weekly

Extra flights from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru will be added between 29th August and 12th September 2017. This will increase available one-way flights from 38 to 41 weekly for this travel period.

Promotional fares

In conjunction with the upcoming holiday period, AirAsia is offering 20% off the base fare for All Seats, on All Flights booked by 16th July 2017 on airasia.com, Mobile AirAsiaAirAsiaGo and the AirAsia mobile app. Book now, and fly between 17th July and 23rd November 2017.

As always, remember the Baggage Drop counters close 60 minutes before flight departure and during busy holiday periods the queues will be longer.

Pre-book baggage (and keep within what you have booked) and meals. Use self-check in via web, mobile or kiosk services.

Check in early. Allow time to get through all security checks and bag drop to make sure you will be at your departure gate before it closes. They will leave you behind it you are not there!
