….. We look forward to continuing our work to explore even more new routes across Malaysian airports from other parts of our Asean network. From an operational standpoint, we have extensively prepared to ensure all of our guests can travel safely, seamlessly and with peace of mind.  Riad Asmat, CEO AirAsia Malaysia

AirAsia has used the downtime in travel over the past 20 months to improve and revamp its flight procedures and processes. In addition, only fully-vaccinated employees will operate flights and be on-duty at airport terminals and likewise, only fully-vaccinated guests are accepted onboard. As part of its Covid-19 mitigation plan, it’s mandatory for AirAsia passengers to check-in via the airasia Super App and they’ve launched a unique FACES facial recognition boarding system to make the entire journey fully digital and contactless.

All AirAsia’s aircraft are fully maintained according to procedures set by the manufacturer and the airline’s  in-house maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) unit, Asia Digital Engineering provides services not only to AirAsia but also other airlines. Likewise, all pilots and cabin crew are regularly trained with mandatory refresher courses and ongoing retraining so that they are always on top of their job.

AirAsia’s safety measures and travel SOPs remind you to

  • Ensure that you (and your family) are eligible to travel. Please check any travel restrictions or special requirements for travel for your destination, including health documents and full vaccination certificates. These requirements may change from time to time so we advise that you check with the authorities for the latest updates.
  • Ensure that you are fit to travel. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, do not proceed with your travel plans. You are encouraged to perform a Covid-19 self test before your flight to ensure that you are safe to travel and protect others you may get in contact with throughout the journey.
