Airlines regularly do a bit of housekeeping, they update their schedules for operational reasons, seasonal changes or to make changes to their network. Singapore Airlines schedule changes announced today seem to be a mix of these.

Seasonal and Peak Period schedule changes

Travellers to Christchurch in New Zealand will welcome the increase from seven to ten flights per week out of Singapore between 13th November 2016 and 5th February 2017 over the summer. Those celebrating Chinese New Year, which falls on Saturday, 28th Jan in 2017 will be able to take advantage of the additional choice of flights available.

For those wanting to jet off to cooler climes for a winter break, Singapore Airlines will operate twenty four round-trip flights to Sapporo between 1st December 2016 and 5th January 2017, setting up the opportunity for a White Christmas.

Or perhaps Adelaide beckons – you’ll have a choice of ten weekly services to Adelaide, up from the usual seven times weekly between 1st December 2016 and 31st January 2017.

If India suits your taste better, why not head for Kolkata when you have a wider choice from four flights weekly during December 2016, increased from the current three services.

New Route

Singapore Airlines will add a new, non-stop flight between Singapore and Manchester starting 30th October 2016, five times weekly. This flight will continue on to Houston in the United States, currently served via Moscow.

Schedule

Flight SQ52 is timed to depart Singapore at 0235hrs (2.35am), arriving in Manchester at 0900hrs (9am) before continuing on from Manchester at 1015hrs (10.15am) to arrive in Houston at 1535hrs (3.35pm).

The return flight SQ51 will depart Houston at 2015hrs (8.15pm), arriving in Manchester at 1005hrs (10.05am) before departing for Singapore at 1135hrs (11.35am) for a convenient morning arrival at Changi at 0820hrs (8.20am)

All times are given as local times and may be subject to change.

A couple of extras

We’re also looking forward to the start of the new service linking the three capital cities of Singapore, Canberra and Wellington, scheduled to take off on 20th September 2016.

Singapore Airlines consistently takes its place at the top of World Best Airlines awards, taking out top spot in the Travel+Leisure Awards and just pipped by Emirates and Qatar Airways in the 2016 Skytrax Awards.

Dusseldorf took its place as the third SIA destination in Germany, with the arrival of SQ338 from Singapore on 22nd July 2016. This service, which utilises the recently arrived Airbus A350-900 aircraft, will start as a three times weekly addition to the lineup, joining the other two German destinations Munich and Frankfurt.
