With intense lobbying for potential passengers by airlines and travel companies to get ‘bums on seats’, potential travellers looking to find a good deal may find one this weekend. The MITM Travel Fair Kuala Lumpur 2016, is on until Sunday 7th August at MidValley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) in kuala Lumpur.
The Exhibitors
The organisers, Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA), have joined with Tourism bodies from Hawaii, Jeju, Korea, Indonesia and Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan as well as Tourism Malaysia., to promote local and International travel in this three day fair.
Thirty-two travel companies will have booths at the fair, as will a diverse group of travel supporting companies including Photobook Malaysia and Universal Traveller Shop.
MITM Travel Fair Partner airline AirAsia
The partner airline AirAsia Group, has come up with some attractive offerings. Visitors to their booth will have access to some great deals on AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK), AirAsia Thailand (FD), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), AirAsia Philippines (Z2) as well as Malaysia AirAsia X (D7), including a 20% discount on fares.
In addition you get to taste samples of their in-flight menu offerings including their popular in-flight beverage brand T&Co and you can try out their Premium Seat which has been judged the World’s best for the 4th time in the recent Skytrax awards. Pick up some of their give-aways and join in the fun activities. If you’re not sure which destination is ‘calling’ you, have a chat to representatives from Gold Coast, Maldives, Macao and Mauritius, recently added to the network from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
If Macao is your chosen destination, on top of your 20% discount, on offer if you have Malaysian ID and have booked two return flights to Macao at the AirAsia booth to travel before the end of 2016, is an on-the-spot rebate of MYR 200.
If you prefer an AirAsia X flights (flight code D7) to Osaka, Busan, Gold Coast or Mauritius, they also have something special for you.
AirAsia-Citi Card members and BIG Prepaid MasterCard members are also entitled to priority lanes at the AirAsia booth to beat the queue for flight booking.
If you can’t make it to the fair, you can still get 20% discount on fares booked online until 7th August. You can also make your booking using the AirAsia mobile app for iPhone and Android devices or via the AirAsia mobile site.
Malaysia Airlines deals
While Malaysia Airlines isn’t a participating airline, you might like to compare fares before you buy. MAS are offering up to 50% off some of their fares with a range of domestic destinations available from MYR 58 and international fares going for some attractive prices. You can pick up a return ticket Kuala Lumpur/Auckland from MYR 2259 or Sydney return from MYR 1729. Bookings may be made until 15th August, for travel between 14th August 2016 and 31st March 2017.
