December 8, 20143 minute read

Malindo Air, Malaysia’s hybrid airline has, since November 3rd, added to the competition on the busy and lucrative Kuala Lumpur – Singapore route with their brand new dual-class layout Boeing 737 aircraft flying out from KLIA2 into Terminal 3, Changi. The flights are conveniently timed to get you to Singapore to start the business day and return to Kuala Lumpur after the work day is over.

In an announcement made on 8th December, Malindo Air is offering an introductory one-way fare of RM59 for Economy Class and RM299 for Business Class, inclusive of free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and refreshments or full-service meal. Bookings can be made at the Malindo Air website.

In a welcoming ceremony at Singapore’s Changi airport, CEO of Malindo Air, Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy, and Changi Airport Group’s Senior Vice President of Market Development, Mr. Lim Ching Kiat, personally greeted passengers arriving on the afternoon flight at 12:45pm with garlands.

Mr. Chandran, at press conference at Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi following the welcoming ceremony, said, “We would like to thank Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) for their warm generosity and continuous support in welcoming Malindo Air into their growing family of airlines at Changi. We are very delighted to be here to mark this momentous occasion and to establish the start of a new venture and partnership in Singapore.”

He further noted that with the new daily services, Malindo Air will add altogether 6,800 return seats weekly to the route. “With new seat capacity from Malindo Air, this busy route will be further strengthened and at the same time realise our vision of positioning Malaysia and Singapore as travellers’ top choice as the strategic gateway into Asia,” he said.

“Our introduction of the new route is especially important as the Singapore-KL segment is highly populated with the potential to develop even more through higher seat capacity. This is amplified through a recent market study whereby it was found that the largest number of visitors to Malaysia comes from Singapore.”

Malindo offers customers an easy to use website with a choice of flight only bookings, flight + hotel and multi City tabs. If you would like to book a flight+stay package, the airline has recently launched a dedicated portal to make it easier. Tagged as the “Smarter Way to Holiday”, the portal promises customers the ‘best of the best’ travel deals to over 30 destinations with more than 400,000 hotels to choose from with additional savings of up to 31%.
