Malindo Air has added Hanoi to their existing offering of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam with the first flight out of Kuala Lumpur’s KLIA taking off on 1st September 2016. The flight took off just after breakfast, arriving in Hanoi in time for lunch and returning from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport in time for dinner the same evening. The new daily flight raises the number of Malindo Air routes across its network to 40 destinations in 13 countries.
The flight takes just over three hours but you’ll need to note the time difference, despite being further to the east, Hanoi’s time is actually an hour behind the time in Kuala Lumpur. You’ll fly in one of their Boeing 737-800ER aircraft – one of the best features of which is their generous legroom.
Why visit Hanoi?
Apart from the beautiful Ha Long Bay about an hour away from Hanoi there’s a long list of things to do in and around the city. If you have longer, venture up to the hills around Sapa, or catch the train down to Danang.
While residents may proudly remind you that Vietnam is a Communist country, it’s clear that commerce and culture have survived and even thrived over a history stretching back just over a thousand years. It’s a good idea to stay in the old part of the city, the area known as ‘thirty-six streets’.
Promo fares
To celebrate the new route Malindo Air is offering special fares between Kuala Lumpur’s KLIA, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) from MYR 209 for a one-way Economy Class ticket inclusive of all taxes, a 30kg baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and meals.
Bookings may be made on the Malindo Air website, via the mobile site, or download their Malindo Air App on Google Play and App Store.
