Travellers seeking to enjoy the best of Malaysia now have a new option to expand their visit.  Malindo Air’s new service between tropical Langkawi and historical Malacca (Melaka) connects two popular tourism cities. The service uses the popular turboprop ATR72-600 aircraft. This aircraft are great because they fly low enough for you to get a good look at the countryside passing below.

From Langkawi, flight OD1351 is scheduled to depart at 12:05p.m. and arrive in Malacca International Airport at 1:45p.m. The incoming flight OD1350 departs from Malacca at 2:05p.m.

Inaugural flight OD1350 between Malacca and Langkawi arrived at Langkawi International Airport at 3:45p.m. on 1st March 2019. Its arrival had a water cannon salute and all 72 passengers received a warm welcome at the terminal.

Why tourism cities?

Apart from it’s island paradise reputation, duty free island Langkawi has a historical story as well. Find out about the seven generation curse on the island connected with the beautiful Mahsuri, whose mausoleum is quite close to the airport. For other reasons to visit, you can find a few here. Malindo Air also offers 8 domestic flights daily from KLIA and Subang Skypark.

Malacca (Melaka) has a history that goes back over 600 years, to the Ming Dynasty and the voyages of Cheng Ho, the arrival of Paremeswara and Arab and Indian traders. These early influences had already formed a diverse cultural framework, added to by Portuguese, Dutch and British periods. Visit the Portuguese settlement and the museums or just wander around St Paul’s Hill or the old city. Eat the food – a treat for foodies thanks to the influences of history.

Malindo Air also celebrated its inaugural flight between Kota Bharu and Malacca on 1st March. Flight OD1300 departed from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport at 11:55a.m. arriving at Malacca International Airport at 1:30p.m.

From Malacca, flight OD1301 departed at 1:50p.m. and arrived in Kota Bharu at 3:15p.m. These flights are also scheduled 3 times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using a 72 passenger ATR72-600 aircraft.
