Malindo Air adds Melbourne from June 2018

Malindo Air adds Melbourne to their network, offering daily services from Kuala Lumpur from 7th June 2018.

The airline currently operates an all Boeing 737 fleet with a mix of 737-8 and 737-9 aircraft. Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne is not do-able in this aircraft, so the flight stops over in Bali’s Denpasar airport. Malindo Air flies out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA.

• Flight OD 177 leaves Kuala Lumpur (KUL) at 16.55 (4.55pm) arriving in Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) Denpasar at 20.00 (8pm).
  • Flight time is 3h 5mins
  • Stopover time is 1 hour.
• Departure from DPS is 21.00 (9pm), for an early morning arrival into Melbourne (MEL) of 4.40 am.
  • Flight time is 5h 40mins
• Total travelling time is 9 hours 45 min.

The straight through flight has the best price available for the inaugural flight. You can travel to Bali on an earlier flight, giving you a stopover of between 1hr 20 mins to 10 hrs 15mins  However, spending the day in Bali will significantly increase the cost of your flight.

The return flight also allows you to select a later flight for the Bali Kuala Lumpur leg.

• The ‘straight through’ OD 178 takes of from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 7am.
• Arrival into Bali is 11.25 am.
  • Flight time is 6h 25 mins
  • Stopover time is 1 hour.
• Take-off from Bali is 12.25 (12.25pm) arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 15.25 (3.25pm)
  • Flight time is 3 hours.
• Total travelling time is 10 hrs 25min

The time difference between Melbourne and Denpasar is 2 hours (3 in summer). There is no time difference between Kuala Lumpur and Bali.
