Malaysia Airlines: Reunion flights from RM89

by on August 11, 2021

As the Covid-19 pandemic rolls on, Malaysia has loosened some of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to fully vaccinated individuals. Reunion flights for family members separated by the ban on interdistrict/interstate travel are now on offer from Malaysia Airlines. There are a number of conditions attached to this relaxation, which may vary as conditions change.

Malaysia Airlines is ready to facilitate travel for fully vaccinated long-distance married couples and parents to reunite with their loved ones. Fares start from RM89 for Economy Lite tickets (no checked baggage) between domestic destinations.
This promotion is available for booking between 10th August and 30th September 2021, valid for immediate travel until 30th October 2021.

Reunion flights: Need to know

If you’re eligible to make any flights under the allowed categories, Malaysia Airlines has introduced enhanced health and safety protocols across multiple touchpoints at airports and onboard. These ensure customers and employees’ safety are protected throughout your journey, allowing you to fly with confidence.

These measures include:

  • frequent aircraft disinfection

The upgrade of the airline’s aircraft HEPA filters with better filtration capability ensures efficient air recirculation. These filters have been shown to filter out 99.97 per cent of viruses on board.

Passengers receive complimentary hygiene kits which include:

  • one non-surgical face mask
  • a sachet of hand sanitiser
  • a sachet of sanitary wipes
    • hygienically packed in a sealed zip-lock small sized pouch

At the time of writing, more than 93% of Malaysia Airlines’ pilot and cabin crew are vaccinated. Together with its sister companies under the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the Company expects to achieve 100% of its employees fully vaccinated by mid-August 2021. The Malaysia Airlines Group’s has participated in the Industry Vaccination Centre (PPVIN) since it began in July 2021.
