Chinese New Year meals are very important for those celebrating the lunar new year festival. With this year’s festival falling on Saturday 25th January, Malaysia Airlines is offering special meals from then until 31st January.
Chinese New Year meals 2020
Special meals are available for passengers in both Business and Economy Class, as well as in the airline’s Golden Lounges in KL International Airport (KLIA), Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. The meals will be available for lunch, dinner and supper on selected flights to Hong Kong, Daxing (Beijing), Shanghai and London.
Economy Class passengers can enjoy an appetiser of Yee Sang with Jelly Fish. This can be paired with a main dish of Deep Fried Fish Cube with Broccoli, Mushroom. This meal is served with steamed rice. Or you can choose Chicken with Sesame Sour Plum Sauce with Oriental Mixed Vegetables served with Egg Fried Rice.
The Golden Lounges in KLIA will serve festive meals prepared by their in-house Chefs. Enjoy Yee Sang and vegetable spring rolls and a selection of Chinese Style Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Fish, Malaysian Curry with Potato, Ginger Chicken Stew with Root Vegetables and Loh Hon Chye. Malaysian favourites are available for dessert. Savour the Mango Pudding, Pineapple Tarts, Warm Red Bean Soup with Dumpling and Peanut Cookies.
In Kuching Golden Lounge guests can enjoy their Yee Sang with Deep fried fish fillet with Lemon butter sauce, Steam Lotus Leaf Rice and vegetable dish Loh Hon Chye. Special dishes in Kota Kinabalu include Szechuan Vegetable, Chicken Salad and a choices of main dishes. These include Pineapple Fried Rice, Stir Fry Seafood and Chicken in Yam Basket as well as Steamed Pak Choy Garlic and Mushroom.
If you’re travelling on the 23rd of January, catch the God of Prosperity at KLIA check-in counters. He’ll be handing out oranges and chocolate ‘gold’ coins. He’ll also pay a visit to all three Golden Lounges in the airport.
