Chinese New Year 2019 falls on 5th February and it’s big event in the Chinese calendar. Most countries in South East and greater Asia have public holidays that may run for up to a week. Its a time for family reunions and Malaysia Airlines is celebrating with that in mind.

Chinese New Year 2019 : share the fun

First up, their festive video highlights two of their staff, siblings Vivian and Adrian, just coming of their flights. Adrian waits for Vivian so they can go home together for the new year reunion. Check out the two and a half minute video titled ‘The Spirit of Hospitality’ below.

Whether you’re flying for a reunion or a holiday, the celebration continues onboard. The airline is serving special New Year dishes on selected flights to London, Hong Kong, Taipei and China between 3rd and 10th February 2019.

If you’re flying in Business Class or Business Suite you’ll have an additional choice of traditional Yee Sang with Salmon Tataki as an appetiser. This is followed by a main course of Fried Garoupa with Roselle Flower or Tofu and Vegetable balls with Ginkgo Nut, served with steamed rice.

Economy Class passengers can also enjoy Yee Sang with Jelly Fish as appetiser.  Sweet & Sour Fish or Chicken with Sesame Sour Plum Sauce served with rice is served as the main course.
