Malaysia Airlines A350 XWB takes off to London on its inaugural service, replacing the current A380 aircraft. The A380s will still be seen on this route subject to demand, until at least the end of 2018.
The inaugural A350-900 service took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this morning, 5th January following a special send-off. MH4 departed KLIA at 9.15 am and is scheduled to arrive at London-Heathrow at 3.25pm, local time today.
All 255 passengers on board MH4 were treated to cupcakes and souvenirs as they passed through the boarding lounge. Some also stopped to take photos with Malaysia Airlines CEO, Izham Ismail and CCO, Arved von zur Muehlen in the aircraft.
What is this new aircraft?
The first of the Malaysian Airlines A350 fleet arrived on 1st December 2017 and has been conducting training runs around the regions since. The A350-900 XWB aircraft seats 286 passengers. There are four First Class seats, 35 in Business Class and 247 in Economy Class. The aircraft is equipped with Malaysia Airlines’ latest cabin products.
