You can now fly round the world using more Jetstar airlines to widen your choice.
Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific have joined Jetstar’s Australian airline to add their networks to Global Explorer, the round-the-world fare offered by oneworld® member airlines and selected partners outside the global alliance.
From 1st December 2015, you’ll be able to add fifteen new destinations to your potential travel list, including two key Asian hubs – in Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore and dozens more routes on board Global Explorer. This will increase the number of available destinations featured in Global Explorer to more than 230 destinations across Asia and around 1,150 worldwide, in more than 150 countries.
What is Global Explorer?
Global Explorer is one of the most popular programmes offering round-the-world fares, with simple, flexible, and good value travel around-the-world. Prices are based on the cabin class chosen and the total distance travelled with journeys to be completed within one year. To complete their travel passengers may use the various airlines making up the grouping, giving access to an extensive network.
Routes covered are all routes offered by oneworld’s member airlines, currently airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, TAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Russia’s S7 and SriLankan Airlines, plus some 30 affiliated carriers, including Austria’s Niki, South Africa’s Comair, Denmark’s SUN-AIR, LAN Argentina, LAN Colombia, LAN Ecuador, LAN Peru and QantasLink.
Additionally, it also features flights by a number of airlines that are not part of the global alliance, including Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines and its Horizon Airlines sister, Bangkok Airways, Fiji Airways, Meridiana fly and WestJet. Flights carrying the Qantas code but operated by Air Tahiti Nui and Jetstar were also already included with routes operated by Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific, further expanding the reach covered by this fare.
What do the new additions offer?
As Jetstar Asia is based in Singapore, operating some 26 routes over 13 countries and 25 cities across the Asia-Pacific region. Jetstar Japan flies 19 domestic Japanese and international routes, from Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai) and Nagoya (Chubu), while Jetstar Pacific operates 32 domestic and international routes to 16 destinations in Vietnam, mainly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This adds another 13 destinations in Vietnam to Global Explorer – Buon Ma Thuot, Chua Lai, Da Lat, Hai Phong, Pleiku. Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Nha Trang, Hue, Phu Quoc, Tou Hoa, Qhi Nhon and Dong Hoi, plus Indonesia’s Pekanbaru and Palembang, along with China’s Shantou.
This widens considerably the choices available to travellers as they plan their journey. For full details of Global Explorer and sample itineraries, see the oneworld website, contact any participating airline or your local travel agent.
