Jetstar Asia have just released Sale Fares targeted at groups of two travellers flying between Kuala Lumpur or Penang and Singapore. The one-way fares priced at RM130 for 2 passengers are limited and may only be purchased in pairs where travellers must fly together. Although taxes are included, there is a RM20 booking and service fee, per passenger per flight, so you really need to read the fine print.
The fares also do not include checked baggage, so unless you want to add that on, you must make do with the 7kg hand carry allowance that is strictly enforced.
If you want return fares, they are available, but at different pricing. Once you have selected your dates, the Jetstar website has a calendar which will allow you to change your dates to source the cheapest fare, but be warned, taxes and add-ons aren’t included in this base fare.
Sale starts at 10am on 27th January and ends at 6pm on 2nd February 2015, unless sold out. The sale may be extended. Bookings are subject to sale fares availability and are for travel in selected periods in 2015.
A quick look at the dates below suggest that you may have to look hard for sale fares during the major festivals of Chinese New Year and Hari Raya as well as school holidays as the sale fares are only available in blocks which don’t cover these dates.
The dates available for bookings Kuala Lumpur – Singapore: 24 Feb – 1 Apr, 14 Apr – 28 May, 21 Jul – 22 Oct 2015 and Penang – Singapore: 24 Feb – 1 Apr, 14 Apr – 28 Aug, 5 Jul – 22 Oct 2015.
