by on March 5, 2020

Hiroshima is set to disappear from the SIA Group network. SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines (SIA), has indefinitely suspended operations to Hiroshima from 27th March 2020. The suspension is due to weak demand, exacerbated by the Covid-19 outbreak.

SilkAir will contact all affected customers and and arrangements made to re-accommodate them on to other flights. For further assistance, customers may contact

SIA’s Japan reservations office at +81 3 3213 3431

The 24-hour Reservations Call Centre in Singapore at +65 6223 8888.

For more information check the Singapore Airlines website, their central booking platform.

The SIA Group, which includes the parent Airline and low-cost carrier Scoot, regularly reviews its flight network. This allows them to remain nimble and flexible in adjusting capacity to demand. The Group also serves other six points in Japan including Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita. SIA Group remains firmly committed to the Japanese market and is working to grow both passenger and cargo traffic to and from the country.

Good day… Can i ask a question? I just recieved a message from my travel agency that my departure area is change to fokouka airport instead in hiroshima. My concern is that the ticket i buy is still the same? No more changes? And when i go to fokouka the ticket that i buy is the one i will be presented to them? Thank you

You should contact your travel agent as soon as possible. If it is a flight booking only, you will have to find your own way from Fukuoka to Hiroshima. Fukuoka is quite far from Hiroshima. Even by train it will take a few hours. If it is part of a tour, it may mean they have changed the itinerary.
