Qantas Frequent Flyers can now earn Qantas Points for going to the movies at over 200 cinemas around Australia including Hoyts, Event, BCC, Greater Union, and Village cinemas, plus many independent outlets. In addition you can save up to 40% on the box office price and earn two points per dollar spent on movie vouchers purchased via a dedicated portal.
This initiative is a response to Frequent Flyer feedback that rates movie watching as a popular interest and it joins a list of many activities other than buying flight tickets that will earn points for members.
To take advantage of the offer, which complements the opportunity to redeem Qantas Points for movie tickets via the Qantas Store, customers simply buy their movie vouchers online and exchange the vouchers at the box office of their preferred participating cinema. The box office will exchange the vouchers for tickets to a movie and eligible session time of the members’ choice.

As an added bonus, Qantas Frequent Flyers have the chance to win a year’s supply of movie vouchers (4 tickets per month for 12 months). Each movie voucher purchased from Qantas Points Movies will go into the draw – each voucher purchased equals one entry. Two winners will be drawn each week for 10 weeks. - Mobile responsive website: book, pay and store digital vouchers (for up to five months) to scan at the cinema – no printing of vouchers required for the majority of cinemas. Or purchase your Movie vouchers on the spot using a smart phone.
- Location smart: find cinemas and session times, closest to you. The Qantas Movies website will detect the user’s location (on desktop computers and mobile devices) and show nearby cinemas and session times.
