British Airways flight BA 33 is due to touch down at KLIA just before 4pm on Friday 29th May 2015.

The airline was one of the earliest to fly the route since its first flight as Imperial Airways on 9th December 1933. The journey, which now takes just under thirteen hours with no stops, needed 22 stops and nine days to make it to Alor Star in northern Malaysia.

Flights to Kuala Lumpur began in August 1956 when the airline was known as BOAC, but the airline hasn’t had a presence at Kuala Lumpur International Airport since 2001.

BA 33 will depart daily from Heathrow, Terminal 5 at a convenient time of 8.15pm with a scheduled arrival into Kuala Lumpur at 4.00pm the following afternoon. The return flight BA 34 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 11.05pm to arrive at Heathrow, T5 at 5:25am the next morning. For those keen on a little trivia, these are the same flight numbers used prior to the airline’s exit from the Kuala Lumpur route fourteen years ago.

British Airways will be unveiling romantic advertisements for the route which showcase Malaysian icons Michelle Yeoh and Jimmy Choo with British supermodel Georgis May Jagger.

Special all-in return economy class airfares are available for travel between 28th May and 30th November, starting from MYR 3088. These fares are available until 16th June at the britishairways.com.
