Since coming on-board with AirAsia in 2014, with Twitter access introduced in mid-2015, AirAsia & roKKi have installed the platform in 33 of the airline’s aircraft used on flights with the AK code. This covers local and regional flights within and out of Malaysia.
Passengers on these aircraft are now able to enjoy a variety of free content streamed to their own devices during the flight via the roKKi portal, as part of the airline’s enhancement to the existing on-board roKKi Wi-Fi service. You will have to pay for the wifi connection. See below for details.
The free content includes both material produced by AirAsia as well as popular local movies. These include Ola Bola, Polis Evo, Maindhan and The Journey.
In addition you can:
- check on the in-flight menu,
- read the in-flight magazine destination guides and
- check out the duty-free offerings
on your own device.
The choices will also include regional and international music videos on the roKKi streaming platform and the little ones can enjoy a variety of child centred content covering movies, animation, arts, crafts and hobbies.
If you need to keep in touch
You can purchase an AirAsia roKKi Wi-Fi Plan before you fly. The Chats Plan will cost you MYR 9 for 3MB, for WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE, KakaoTalk & Viber apps and the Internet Plan sold at RM18 will give you 10MB to use for lightweight Internet usage.
Also available is xcite-inflight-entertainment on AirAsia X flights – great for those who don’t want to use their own device. Pre-booking is advisable.
*** YouTube and app store downloads are excluded.
