It’s the end of year school holidays, and the third annual AirAsia – QPR Coaching Clinic Tour is taking this opportunity to unearth local Asian football talents at the grassroots level in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and China.
The 2015 coaching clinic series started off in Pattaya, Thailand in collaboration with the Chonburi Football Club on 8th December, followed by Singapore with the Football Association of Singapore on 11th December. The tour will conclude in Shanghai on 19th December.
In Malaysia, 60 young football talents, ranging from 14 to 17 years old will have the opportunity to learn from QPR’s coaches to enhance their skills and competency on the pitch, such as ball manipulation, passing and shooting techniques and other tactical aspects of the game at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Two best players will be selected from each coaching clinic session and they will have an opportunity of a lifetime to visit Loftus Road in London and enjoy the experience of being a professional football player. The boys will meet the QPR first team, train at QPR’s training ground and enjoy a full day at the club’s Academy in March 2016.
…We are proud to collaborate with QPR in the Community Trust program to provide the right platform and opportunity for our youth to showcase their skills. Our ongoing collaboration aims to inspire young football talents in our region to reach for their dreams. The AirAsia-QPR Coaching Clinic have so far benefited 250 young talents in Malaysia and 750 across Asia and we hope this will continue to encourage all these young talents to be more confident and maximise their potential in the sport with the QPR coaches’ guidance.
