Aerial survey work being carried out by the Air Traffic Sector, Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia between Monday 26th and Thursday 29th September 2016 will result in the re-timing of a number of flights both into and out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and a small number of cancellations.

The closure will affect flights arriving and departing between 11am to 11.59am and 2pm to 2.59pm between 26th and 29th September 2016.

Both Malaysia Airlines and Malindo Air have indicated that a number of their flights will be affected, and while Malindo Air has not provided flight details, Malaysia Airlines has provided details of flights affected over the four day period.

As the closure will also affect KLIA2,  AirAsia has also advised that all affected AirAsia and AirAsia X passengers should have been contacted via email or SMS and asks all passengers travelling during the affected dates and times check their registered emails and mobile numbers for retime notifications.

What should passengers do if their flight is affected?

In the event that more details are not provided publicly by your airline, most affected passengers should expect to be contacted by their airline if they have provided contact details. In any case, it would be wise to check the Flight status with the airline.

Arrive early at the airport if your flight is moved to an earlier time slot as there will be pressure on security and other services as timings are adjusted.
