Virgin Australia EOFY Sale

Virgin Australia is offering some attractive fares in their EOFY – End of Financial Year Sale on until the 30th June 2016.

EOFY Sale on both Domestic and International fares.

Even taking into account that you need to plan your trip well in advance, there are some worthwhile finds to be had… you can go from Brisbane to Perth for AU$179 if your travel dates are between 30th January and 30th March 2017.

Virgin Australia Domestic Fares include baggage allowance (allocated by piece, you can’t combine with another passenger, even in the same booking), a meal or snack, wireless entertainment and seat selection. The icons below the fare indicate what’s included, just mouse over to check.

International Flights generally include baggage, but the other inclusions may vary so check the icons. For example, an Economy flight from Sydney to Samoa (Apia) is available for AU$399 with baggage, entertainment and seat selection, but no meals. Again, non-school holidays. The earliest you can go is between 22nd July and 21st September 2016.

Generally speaking, the available dates for the best fares are non-school holiday periods. There are also a few ‘best practices’ you can use to find the best fares, whether there’s a sale on, or not.

Finding the best Virgin Australia Fare

There are a few general tips to grabbing that ‘best fare’ which you can apply to most airlines….

• Have a general idea of when you want to travel, well in advance, preferably not for fixed dates
• Understand that most sale fares purchased online are not refundable although some allow changes with payment of a penalty. Read the fine print.
• Join the Loyalty programme which gets you a Velocity Card. This will give you access to special deals for flights and other travel products like car hire and accommodation, as well as vouchers and is particularly useful if you do travel frequently. If you use the airline for work travel as well as leisure, you will also benefit from points accrued (Velocity Miles).
• Get yourself onto the mailing list and receive emails detailing flights and other travel products on offer.
