LRT Shah Alam Line is the third such service to connect travellers in Malaysia’s Klang Valley and will finally start service on Monday 29th June 2026, following an official launch on Sunday 28th June, by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The system has undergone extensive testing in recent months to ensure problem free operation.

 Useful things to know in advance of the opening of Shah Alam Line (LRT3)

The Shah Alam Line line stretches from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, a total length of 37.8 km and includes 25 stations,  twenty of which will be operational from 29th June. The five  provisional stations are planned for completion and in operation by 2027.

Two Stations along the route are integrated stations Bandar Utama LRT/Bandar Utama MRT and the Glenmarie Shah Alam LRT station connects with Glenmarie Kelang Jaya LRT serving an estimated two million population in the western corridor of Klang Valley. The trains will run at an 80 km/h operational speed, and with an estimated one minute at each stop, the full journey should take less than 60 minutes travel time between the end stations. Peak hour operation is expected to see a train frequency is 6 minutes during initial operations.
At the time of writing, full details are not available on the MyRapid website, although the Integrated fare schedule is available.  There are three levels of fees, Cash fare, Cashless fare and Concession fares. Route tables for all LRT lines are available at the bottom of this page.
