AirAsia’s Runway Ready finds top Designers

AirAsia’s Runway Ready Search has found its winners who were chosen from the fifteen finalists who presented their designs at the recent Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2016 (KLFWRTW 2016).

Expanded this year to include young designers from five ASEAN nations,  Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand as well as host country, Malaysia the competition attracted a huge number of entries from aspiring young fashion designers. Three finalists were selected from each of the countries, to produce their Asean-inspired designs for the catwalk, parading them before judges representative of the different countries.

The Prizes

Not only did the Grand Prize Winner walk away with the coveted title of ‘AirAsia’s Most Promising Young Designer 2016’ and a confirmed show segment to showcasing the full collection at KLFWRTW 2017, the prize included a year-long mentorship from the KLFWRTW team, RM25,000 to produce a capsule collection which will be sold at the Sponsor’s outlet, 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points and a pair of return AirAsia flights.

This year’s winners have the 2017 KL Fashion Week to look forward to, following in the footsteps of the 2015 winners, Lee Bao En, Shazmin and Ter Mei Ching who had the opportunity to showcase their full collections on the KL Fashion Week RTW runway, marking their first appearance as designers on the big platform.
