Skybus has built a name for itself in Melbourne and Auckland as the premier provider of airport bus transfers. The service has now launched a Gold Coast offshoot, serving the Gold Coast local area. The service launches today, following the acquisition of Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle (GCTS). Trips are available 7 days a week using purpose-built buses fitted with free Wi-Fi and luggage storage space.
Locations and fares
The destination list includes over 500 Gold Coast hotels, along with Gold Coast theme parks. The Theme Park Transfer and the Freedom Pass previously offered by GCTS will remain unchanged and will continue to be offered. Local destinations are divided into 3 zones:

Parents take note… Skybus offers two family packages that are bound to be a hit with holidaying families:
Family 1 is for one parent and up to four children for the price of a single adult ticket.
Family 2 includes two parents and up to four children for the price of two adult tickets.
The Future
Skybus are coy about whether they’ll be extending their reach to Brisbane and Northern NSW in future. A Skybus spokesperson told us: “we are currently focused on our newly launched SkyBus Gold Coast Airport Shuttle services. We are keeping our options open on expanding our services beyond Gold Coast and will make a move when the time is right.”
We also asked them about whether transfers to Gold Coast train stations are being considered, but this appears to be off the table for now.
