Following the launch of their new service from Johor Bahru to Guangzhou on 2nd April 2019, Malindo Air has announced two new China routes. The new services from Kuala Lumpur to Zhengzhou and Chengdu will take off on 1st May 2019.
Chandran Rama Muthy, Malindo Air’s CEO says the airline is happy to grow their network in China to cater for the increasing demand. He also spoke about the new Guangzhou service, commenting that:
…. We are excited to start this route, which serves as an alternative for travellers from Guangzhou to Malaysia. They can easily connect to Singapore from Johor Bahru by land, or take advantage of the connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur for a twin city tour. This will encourage growth in tourist and passengers’ arrival into Malaysia.
Malindo Air currently operates flights from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Johor Bahru to seven cities in China: Chengdu, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Haikou, Kunming, Tianjin and Wuhan.
New China routes: Promo fares
Promotional fares are now available for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Zhengzhou from MYR429 for Economy Class. Economy Class seats to Chengdu start from MYR309. The airline will deploy their narrow-body Boeing 737-800 aircraft on these routes. The services will offer 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats. Book on the Malindo Air website, their ticketing offices, customer care centre and preferred travel agents.
There are three weekly flights scheduled between Kuala Lumpur and Zhengshou The city is home to the famous Shaolin Temple and the Yellow River, known as the birth place of Chinese civilisation.

Four weekly flights are scheduled between Kuala Lumpur and Chengdu the home of giant pandas. It’s also a great city for foodies, after all, the capital of Sichuan is famous for its spicy dishes and well developed agricultural industry. Visit the 2000 year old irrigation system, or the garden of Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu. Catch a mask changing performance and visit the tomb of Three Kingdoms Emperor, Liu Bei.
