Malaysia Airlines opens aircraft engineering training

Malaysia Airlines is offering various aircraft engineering training courses, in a sign of confidence that air travel stability will return in the near future. Interested candidates, especially SPM leavers interested in a career in the aviation industry choose can from a range of technical aircraft engineering training courses. Registration is open until 15th July 2021 for this year’s intake.

Aircraft engineering training eligibility

Registration is open to

  • Males and females
  • aged between 18 and 26 years old
  • medically fit
  • minimum requirement SPM certificate
    • including credit for English and Science subjects
    • pass Bahasa Malaysia

Training is managed by the Engineering Training Department of Malaysia Airlines Berhad. The program complies with the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) and Aviation Authorities including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

In addition, the training caters for introductory and aircraft type courses for a wide range of aircraft types, including Viking DHC6-400, ATR72-500, B737-600/700/800/900, A320 families, A330, A350 and A380. He also noted that Malaysia Airlines has a good track record in producing high caliber Engineers and Technicians. The airline is a maintenance and training organisation approved by the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) and their graduating engineers and technicians are sought after by airlines in Malaysia and abroad. With over 400 aircraft registered in Malaysia, this number is expected to grow in the next five years, creating demand for future talent.

  • Technician and Junior Technician Courses
  • Training programs including engine ground run with simulator training
