Malaysia Airlines is now on WhatsApp since 3rd September 2018, the first airline in Malaysia to introduce this service. The addition is their latest digital initiative, joining recently announced solutions, MHguardian, MHfeedback and MHchat.
WhatsApp at Malaysia Airlines?
The national carrier is the first airline in Malaysia and one of the world’d early adopters to integrate the WhatsApp Business solution.
The airline’s official presence on WhatsApp allows customers to receive flight booking confirmation and flight status directly through the messaging app.
Future plans include the addition of more services enabling passengers to receive important updates via WhatsApp.
These will include
- check-in,
- schedules
- operational notifications
This new platform is offered in addition to the airline’s traditional methods of communication of email and SMS.

We are extremely excited to be the first in Malaysia and one of the first few airlines in the world to offer this new service on WhatsApp. The WhatsApp Business solution will enable us to reach out to more passengers as WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging applications with more than 1.5 billion users worldwide. The new service will go a long way towards enhancing the customer experience for today’s always connected customers. Malaysia Airlines’ Group CEO Izham Ismail
