Malaysia Airlines and Turkish Airlines sign codeshare deal

Malaysia Airlines and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement offering maximised travel opportunities to the passengers of both airlines. The agreement extends the existing commercial cooperation which has been in place since 2017.

New destinations for Turkish Airlines

Under the new agreement, Turkish Airlines will offer new destinations in Malaysia and Australia as Marketing Carrier on Malaysia Airlines operated flights. In return, Malaysia Airlines passengers will have access to Turkey’s domestic destinations.

Within the scope of this codeshare cooperation:

The Turkish (TK) flight number will appear on Malaysia Airlines’ Brisbane (BNE), Adelaide (ADL), Melbourne (MEL), Perth (PER), Sydney (SYD) and Auckland (AKL) flights. In addition 12 domestic flights from Kuala Lumpur will use the Turkish code.

Malaysia Airlines will place its marketing code and flight number on trunk route (Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul v.v.) and Ankara (ESB), Antalya (AYT) and İzmir (ADB) v.v. routes operated by Turkish.

The signing ceremony to seal the agreement was held at Turkish Airlines’ Headquarters in Istanbul on 29th November. Representatives of both airlines reaffirmed their commitment to providing passengers with better destination options and smooth connections.
