LATAM leaves oneworld 1st May 2020

Central and South America airline group LATAM leaves oneworld on 30th April 2020, ending their membership in the oneworld® alliance. LATAM customers will be offered oneworld benefits on oneworld flights up to and including that date. However, LATAM Pass members won’t receive oneworld frequent flyer benefits from Royal Air Maroc, which joins oneworld on 1st April. Likewise, LATAM will not offer oneworld frequent flyer member benefits to Royal Air Maroc Safar Flyer members.

LATAM leaves oneworld: FAQ

Travellers to and across Central and South America will continue to be served by oneworld member airlines.  These include American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Qantas, Qatar Airways as well as member-elect Royal Air Maroc. Between them, they offer more than 100 flights daily to more than 30 airports in the region.

In addition, a number of oneworld member airlines will maintain frequent flyer agreements with LATAM after 30th April. Contact your airlines or their frequent flyer program websites for more information.

Until 30th April 2020:

Frequent flyer program members across oneworld member frequent flyer programs will be able to redeem miles/points for award seats on LATAM. Excluding Royal Air Maroc

  • LATAM Pass frequent flyer program members may redeem miles/points for award seats on oneworld carriers.
    • Excluding Royal Air Maroc
  • All redemption tickets ticketed up to 30th April 2020 remain valid for travel.
    • There will be no oneworld tier status benefits for travel after 30th April 2020.
  • Earn frequent flyer rewards and tier status points as a frequent flyer of other oneworld member airlines on LATAM marketed and operated flights.
    • In accordance with the rules outlined by each member airline.
    • Excluding Royal Air Maroc
  • Emerald and Sapphire tier members of all other oneworld airlines’ frequent flyer programs may continue to use LATAM lounges.
    • In line with oneworld’s existing arrangements.
    • Excluding Royal Air Maroc
  • LATAM Pass Black Signature, Black and Platinum cardholders can use the lounges of other oneworld member airlines.
    • In line with oneworld’s existing arrangements.
    • Excluding Royal Air Maroc
  • Members of all other oneworld airlines’ frequent flyer programs will receive all other oneworld frequent flyer services and benefits when flying on LATAM
    • (Additional baggage allowances, priority check-in, boarding, wait-listing, etc.)
  • Royal Air Maroc will not provide oneworld benefits to LATAM Pass members
  • Royal Air Maroc Safar Flyer members will not receive oneworld benefits offered by LATAM.
  • LATAM will not provide oneworld benefits to Royal Air Maroc Safar Flyer members

Including oneworld Explorer, Global Explorer, and Circle Pacific

  • All sectors on LATAM and its affiliates booked and ticketed as part of a oneworld fare product remain valid.
    • This includes travel occurs after 30th April 2020, as long as ticketed on or before 30 April 2020.

Summary

All flights ticketed by 30th April 2020 are valid for travel. However, benefits will not be accrued from 1st May 2020.
