The festive season is almost upon us and it’s time to sort out all your holiday plans. How about some travel inspiration from Aussie tennis star Nick Kyrgios who can give you some great ideas with his newly-launched travel series ‘Game, Set, KL’, as he gets back to his roots on his mum’s side in bustling Kuala Lumpur.
Filmed in collaboration with Malaysia Airlines and Tourism Malaysia, the 30th ranked world tennis pro will give you a peek into how he spends his time around Malaysia’s Capital city, heading to the local tennis courts for a spontaneous hit with some of the local kids, before heading out with his Malaysian mother Nill to showcase some of Kuala Lumpur’s best foodie hotspots, shopping haunts, premium spas & hotels and buzzing nightlife in Nick’s ‘KL Top 5’.
The two-part video series also shares Nick’s favourite day trips outside of Kuala Lumpur including a not-to-be-missed opportunity to get up close and personal with rescued elephants at Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre, and a visit to the iconic Hindu temple and shrine at the Batu Caves.
…While I was born and brought up in Australia, I’m really proud of my family culture and very close to my Malaysian family. I’ve flown with Malaysia Airlines to visit them since I was a boy and my mum and extended family have always associated Malaysia Airlines with home. I love the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur, the city never sleeps and has some of the best food, shopping and nightlife in Asia. It’s the perfect stop-over. Nick Kyrgios
Nick’s videos are Malaysia Airlines’ second collaboration with an Australian personality, following on from Poh Ling Yeow’s successful “Destination Kuala Lumpur” series showcasing some of the experiences and hidden secrets that give the sultry capital its unique appeal.
