If you’re in Brisbane with kids during the school holidays, whether as a visitor or a resident, Brisbane Airport Skygate is a handy place to know about because they have plenty do do, for both adults and children. Layout map.
For the Kids
The Qantas Joey Club and Tadpoles Early Learning Centre Brisbane Airport are both located on The Boulevard, just over from the Direct Factory Outlets (DFO) store.
During the school holidays there’s lots for the kids to do while mum & dad do grown-up stuff when you head over to The Village Markets, Skygate. They have free workshops for the kids between 10am and 1pm from 11th – 15th January (Crayola) and 18th – 22nd January (Sand sculpture). No bookings are necessary, just turn up and it’s first come, first served.
For the Adults
There are plenty of shops – there’s a 24 hr Woolworths for starters and the Direct Factory Outlets (DFO) is generally pretty busy with people looking for a bargain.
A number of government travel related offices are located close by, including the Australian Customs and Border Protection. You can find a dentist or hotel, ATMs and book tickets at Flight Centre. You can find Luggage Lockers and an Internet Kiosk in the Village Markets.
For travellers
With all the transport options available (see below) you can make Skygate your first stop (remember the 24hr supermarket) or after you’ve checked in, if you have enough time, make a quick trip for any last minute things you need.
The Novotel Brisbane Airport is located adjacent to the DFO, Luggage Lockers and an Internet Kiosk in the Village Markets.
